Some people wear a hat on their head when the tempertures turn cold, while others only want something that's going to keep their forehead and ears warm while not messing their hair up too much. So to satisfy the occassional requests that we get for headbands, we have put our design twist on what we feel the best one should be for keeping your warmer - longer. Our Prairie Snowstorm Windblocking Thermal Headband does just that with its 2 layer technical fabric design. The Outer Layer is 100% thermal windblocking, DWR water repellent and breathable, while the inner layer provides additional synthetic polyester insulating warmth. On top of the exceptional warmth and windblocking protection that this item offers, we have also made the front forehead part of the headband taller in width then the status quo and also gave it better coverage over the ears and rear of the neck. We designed our Prairie Snowstorm Windblocking Thermal Hats for those potential new customers that live in normal Winter conditions, where cold is considered +5 F to +35 F degrees above zero. These customers want a hat for these everyday Winter temperatures, but also want one that works great when the thermometer falls in the -minus temperature range as well. Our Prairie Snowstorm Hats are built with a 2 layer fabric system that not only blocks out 100% of the wind with the Outer Shell fabric, but also provides thermal warmth with both layers of technical fabric combined that produces an average insulating thermal R-value of R-2.5. The Prairie Snowstorm Hats do not have the superior wicking capabilities of our Arctic Thermal Hats, but with that said, they will also not create as much "head" heat because they do not have the same amount of insulation layering in their construction. The Prairie Snowstorm Hats do provide moisture vapor breathability in both layers of the technical fabric that we use and the Outer Shell is also DWR water repellent to keep the rain or wet snow from penetrating from the outside in. The design of this hat is similar to what a standard "stocking hat" looks like, whereby you can either pull it straight down over the ears with no sides rolled up, or you can pull it further down and then roll the sides up. But please note, this is the "only" similarity! Technically speaking, there is not much else out in the market place that compares to this hat as we have designed and built it. We use only the highest quality USA manufactured synthetic polyester that meets U.S. Military specifications in our construction processes and we are giving the the Prairie Snowstorm Windblocking Thermal Stocking Hat the following conservative temperature rating range: +32 F to -30 F. (0C to -34C) This hat is excellent for just about any outdoor activitiy that you can think of, in or around the suggested temperature rating range that we have suggested. This is and excellent hat for those people that have to work full-time outside during the Winter time and even for those that may only work mornings and afternoons as Crossing Guards for their local school district. We built these hats special for those who are gifted with head sizes that are larger then the average crowd of characters and have been searching long and hard for a great warmest on the planet hat that's built just for their special attribute. The XXL Sized Windblocking Arctic Thermal Hat will easily, yes easily accomodated heads that measure from 24 inches (609.6mm) to 26 inches (660.4mm) in head circumference, or existing ball cap hat sizes of: USA Sizes: 7 5/8, 7 3/4, 7 7/8 and 8 plus or UK ball cap sizes of: 7 1/2, 7 5/8, 7 3/4 and 7 7/8 plus. In the mean time the best we could come up with for final testing of this new hat prior to our Winter 2007-08 release, was the 2007 Iditarod. Unfortunately, the best the 2007 Iditarod could dish out weather wise upon our musher testers wearing this hat, was estimated windchilled temperatures of -90 F to -100 F below zero up on Rainy Pass. I guess we'll just have to settle for those conditions as being an acceptable extreme for validation purposes. As it was explained to us by one of the mushers wearing a Kap Bridgman hat during the Iditarod, "When I looked around at some of the other mushers that were stranded with me on the top of Rainy Pass in temperatures that we estimated to be -100F, the pain of the frost bite and wind burn on their faces looked like what you only see in pictures. On the other hand the only pain that I was feeling up there was in my knee, which I had busted up pretty badly on the way to Rainy Pass. I guess you could call it innovation by design, as we have continued to push the limits in what can be done with selected Cold Weather Gear & Accessories. In this case, we have further revolutionized the Winter Hat with our Expediton Series XWick 3.4 TRH Windblocking Thermal Wicking Rear Neck Flap Hat, which is yet again in a class by itself. The Expedition Series XWick 3.4 TRH rear neck flap hat has been developed for the user that participates in extreme cold weather activities under high exertion circumstances. Maybe you're a climber heading to the summit of Everest in the Himalaya's or perhaps doing one of the other of the Seven Summits like McKinley, either way temperatures at the top could easily be a frostie -50F plus when you get there. Despite the cold you've muscled and sweated your way to the top. Further, perhaps your expedition fancy is skiing or kiting across the North or South Pole or something less extreme like high altitude snow shoeing in virgin powder. In any or all of these examples you are exerting your body and producing sweat moisture while trying to balance your body heat and minimize the build up of perspiration or breath mositure that with the wrong gear will freeze up at some point. XWick 3.4 TRH Hat is designed for the user that is under physical exertion better then 50% of the time in face biting cold temperatures, where you need to stay warm and protected from frostbite, but you also need better moisture transfer from the area around your head. The following is the secert to the XWick 3.4 TRH:
The 3.4 TR is the combined thermal insulation value of the entire gear unit, which is a Thermal R value of 3.4. The final alpha component of H again stands for the Hardfacing abrasion resistant finish on the outer shell layer fabric that we use for this expedition hat. Although the outer shell fabric is hardfaced, it does have a soft feel to the hand and it does help to reduce the amount of blowing snow that could stick to it. The built-in rear neck flap is especially designed for users that are not always keen on pulling on a neck gaiter when out in the extremes, or prefer not to use one until the temperatures are well below zero. The rear flap is there to minimize the blowing wind to the back of the neck and to keep the snow or rain off that area as well. You can leave the flap out over the collar or you can tuck it in to further seal out the cold elements. The rear flap also has a small highly reflective strip that will allow you to be seen when a light is flashed at you from behind. We've also built in a external rear hook & loop strap system that allows you to firmly secure or anchor you goggle or headlight straps to the back of the hat. On the inside front of the XWick hat, we've sewn in what we call a "Turbo Flap", that has been added for use by the user when additional warmth and windblocking is required on the forehead, while also further sealing out the pounding head wind as well. Flip it up when not needed, or down when you need a little "turbo boost" of warmth to the forehead area. The configuration of the three technical fabrics that we use for this item, the orientation and cut along with their individual stretch capacity allows us to offer this item as a One Size Fits Most. We designed and built the new Roughneck HHL 2.5 Hat to serve two primary purposes. First to address the demands of everyday user's that wanted a 2 side flapped hat that would actually cut the winds and keep them warm and secondly to satisfy the needs of our base of outdoor workers who earn their paychecks working out in the elements during the cool and cold weather months of the year. They told us we need a hat that will work in conjunction with our required Hard Hats and it needs to be built to work in keeping our heads warm, especially on those sub-zero face biting days during the heart of the Winter. We designed and built this hat as usual, using a technical fabric laying system to ensure that the users will stay warmer - longer then anything else that they can get their hands on from other sources. In this case, we selected to use approximately 2.5(two and a half) technical layers of fabric in total, to insure that the final product does what it is suppose to do, which is to keep the user warmer-longer then anything else similar that exists. The Outer Hardfaced Shell layer provides excellent abrasion resistance, offers 95% plus in terms of thermal windblocking protection, offers very good moisture vapor breathability and is also DWR water repellent treated for shedding the moisture of snow, sleet or rain. The 0.50 layer internal insert is placed at the top crown and sloping crown area of the hat and it provides excellent insulating warmth and heat reflection, while also allowing vapor moisture to pass through it. The Inner most layer that surrounds the head, ears, face and chin is made from a heavyweight rated synthetic polyester that provides excellent overall warmth to the entire configuration of the hat. We designed and cut the patterns for this hat to ensure that the back of the neck had above average protection from the elements, that the forehead area had adequate coverage, but not too much to push down over the eyes and so that the flaps when secured together would seal the heat in around the head and ears while also keeping the chin warm along the way. The nice thing about this hat as well, is that you can regulate any heat build up by just separating the 2 flaps from each other and then just let them hang down. We also sewed in heavy duty 1 inch wide hook & loop material for excellent sealing of the 2 flaps together, stitched the top seams on the hat together with heavy weight 69lb bonded nylon thread and the remaining seams are double stitched with high quality polyester thread to ensure a top of the line stitching job. The SIZING on this hat is One Size Fits Most, however the best fit is going to be for Medium, Large & XL sized heads, measuring in circumference from 22.50" to 23 7/8". This hat does have fairly good stretch, so in terms of USA hat sizes, it should accommodate people that wear hat sizes 7 1/8 to about size 7 5/8 on the high end. As always heads on or below the low end of the scale may find the hat a little loose and on the larger head size end of the scale the hat may fit a little snugger. As part of our additional expansion to our Prairie Series of Gear, we have designed and configured a new straight neck gator that presents some of the elements and assets of our Arctic Series Windblocking Thermal Neck Gator's, but tones down the thermal warmth or heat that it generates because not every area of the Country demands it. At the same, people are sick and tired of buying poorly configured single layer straight neck gators that always end up leaving them with a gagingly wet face from their breath, which inturn freezes up and sags down on their face over time. What we have developed as a solution to the comments we heard last Winter, is what has evolved into our new Prairie Snowstorm Windblocking Neck Gator. Again to prevent the gaggingly wet moisture build up and freezing on the outside of the gator, we build ours with 2 layers of technical fabric instead of just one. Our outer layer in made from a 100% thermal windblocking, breathable and DWR water repellent synthetic polyester fabric, while the inner layer provides a mid-range of thermal warmth. The combination again produces a great gear item that will not allow moisture to build up on the outside layer of the gator and will always keep your face warm and dry. This neck gator will never freeze up like the other gator's you currently own and it always allows you to breath in warm air when it is pulled up and over your nose. We sized our Prairie Series gator slightly larger then the average sizing for the run of the mill neck gator that we have all owned in the past and have designed it to be a "One Size Fits Most" configuration. The verticle up and down length is shorter then our Arctic Series of straight neck gators and we also don't incorporate the "stay in any face position" pull tight shock cording on the top edge as the Arctic Series also have. We've added the Thermal Windblocking Wrist Warmers for people who want or desire a little more thermal warmth and windblocking protection on the lower to mid-wrist area that comes out from the mitten or glove. The Wrist Warmers can be used in combination with any of our range of Technical Advantage Gear Mittens as well as with most other brands of mittens or gloves, when extra skin coverage is desired. The Wrist Warmers provide partial skin protection to the lower palm area that sits inside of the mitten or glove and then rides part way up the forearm toward the elbow. All toll, the Wrist Warmers provide a total length coverage of 8.25" or 210mm. The Wrist Warmers are built from a one layer fabric design, with the one layer providing "100% thermal windblocking protection" for added warmth and for cutting the impact from the blowing winds. At the same time, the asset value of the technical fabric also offers breathablity and DWR water repellency for sheding the moisture. The Wrist Warmers are made & sold as a "One Sized" application design and should fit most hands that range from Womens & Juniors, on up through Medium and most Large sized hands. We show some pictures to the left of a small petite size hand wearing a Wrist Warmer as a point of reference, along with a chubby medium to large size hand as another point of pictured reference for you to view. On smaller petite hands the fit may be slightly looser and on larger hands the Wrist Warmers will have a more secure fit. Irregardless of the actual fit on your hand, they will never slide down when you put them inside of your mitten or glove due to the "thumb loop" that fits over the crotch of the thumb when you put them on each hand. When you pull the Wrist Warmers onto your hands, don't be afraid of how your hand fits thru the opening on to the end, as the fabric provides side to side stretch and the "seams" are all sewn with "69LB bonded nylon thread" for maximum seam strength. For a tigher fit on smaller forearms, you can always pull the Wrist Warmer over your shirt sleeve, before putting your jacket on and before sliding your hand with Wrist Warmer into your mitten.

Step 1: Tighten shock cord on mitten first - then pull gaiter unit over mitten tip - up towards the forearm.
Step 2: Tighten bottom edge shock cord on gaiter in the same location as where the mitten shock cord was tightened.
Step 3: Tighten Top Edge Shock cord below elbow area & then tuck excess bottom & top shock cords(if desired) underneath or inside of the mitten gaiter as shown above.

Some people like the wide open entry area into a pair of our Prairie Series Mittens and others who like to play more in the powder snow then on the sidewalk, desire even more protection in the wrist & forearm area then the other protective options that we have available.(ie wrist warmers or liner mitts) We're not quite sure how our design guru keeps coming up with new concepts and world class cutting edge designs, but he seems to out done himself once again. We said "find a way to extend the coverage of the mitten opening end a few inches" and he came back with a 10 inch long wrist/forearm Mitten Gaiter, available as a separate option item to those who prefer to spend most of the time playing in the powder snow. "Why add more cost to our Prairie Mittens" he said "when not everyone wants an extension of coverage up the forearm"? No argument from the rest of us and he's right! Others would give you something built from one layer of nylon or cordura fabric with elastic sewn into each end, providing some windblocking protection but "no added thermal value". For our's, well we continue to do things the hard way. We packed our's together with not (1) one, but (2) two thermal windblocking layers of technical fabric. The outer shell layer provides a hard faced surface for repelling the snow, breathable 95% thermal windblocking protection and is also DWR water repellent treated. The Inner Layer provides 100% thermal windblocking protection, so whatever breathable air penetration that passes through the outer shell, never gets past the inner layer. The inner layer is also DWR water repellent treated for added moisture protection. Instead of cheap elastic sewn into each end, we built in stretch shock cording and cord loc's,(on each end) so that you can pull them as tight as you need when sealing them around the mitten and up on the forearm. The Mitten Gaiters are approximately 10 inches in length (25.4cms), so for some they will run all the way up to the elbow joint. As our design guru said, "we're not going to build these the cheap way like everyone else does, were going to build these the Technical Advantage Gear way....which is the ultimate amount of Asset Value for our customers hard earned money"! The G2 Prairie Snowstorm Mitts are built with technically advanced abrasion resistant thermal windblocking, DWR water repellent, breathable outer shells - a modified 5 layer top & bottom total layering system that also provides a further enhancement for conductive heat loss, about another 8% to 10% additional benefit - an approximate 10% enhancement to the bend flexibility and an increase of approximately 14% to the total length of the mitt allowing it to ride higher up your jacket sleeve. You also can seal the cold air out at the wrist area with the "pull tight" shock cording and securing cord loc. The overall thermal R-value for insulation rating on the G2 mitts is an approximate R-6.55 which is down ever so slightly from the original Prairie Mitts we introduced a couple of years ago. Therefore, those of you who have terminally cold fingers that sweat initially when inside of someone else mitts and then the moisture build up excellerating the cooling process, or perhaps you are a diabetic or have reynauds disease, these are going to be your best hope for an extended period of warmth when you're being active outdoors in the Winter time. These mitts are the total package and "are built" with the assets required for extending your period of enjoyment out in the cold air and will save you many dollars, euro's, pounds, etc., for the price that they are offered at, versus thinking that if you spend more money that you are going to get a better mitten from someone else! You also will not find another brand of mittens that are built with the two outer most layers that both provide "thermal windblocking protection" and "DWR water repellancy". Brands built with nylon outer shells block some of the effects of the wind, but they provide "zero" themal warmth value to the overall mitt. Most nylon shells "are" DWR treated to repell the moisture, however through extended use in wet conditions the benefit of the DWR treatment breaks down and moisture enters the mitts from the outside, but NOT WITH OURS as the next layer inside as we mentioned is also DWR water repellant treated and of course thermal windblocking. As mentioned at the top of this section, we also coverted the outer shell layer material to one that offers excellent abrasion resistance with its hardfaced finish, which still has a soft to the touch feel to it. We never had a wear problem with the original shell material that we used, rather we decided to enhance the total asset value that the G2 mitten has to offer by incorporating this new technical fabric. The XWick 3.6 TRH Glove Over Mitt Shells were built for serious expeditioners who continue to demand gear that actually works & performs to a higher standard, but no other gear manufacturer is providing! The Technical Advantage Gear Glove Over Mitt Shells also COMPLETELY seal shut at the top opening end when not in use, so that the snow and/or rain stays out. They also come with multi-purpose heavy duty webbing straps at the top for gripping to open up the top seal, but more importantly one strap on each mitt has a durable plastic buckle so that they can be clipped together around your waist belt so that they are not dangling down at your knees. The design and engineering of Glove Over Mitt Shells provides for a 3 Layer total technical fabric system. 3 on top and 3 on bottom, that is designed to provide thermal wind blocking protection, abrasion resistance, breathability, water repellency, inner layer moisture wicking, moderate additional warmth when pulled over the users gloves and a good level of bend flexibility and hand gripping when being worn. The Glove Over Mitt units also provide an approximate thermal R-value of insulation of R-3.6 for both top and bottom sides of the shells. We designed these units for the serious expedition mountain climbers in the World, who generally use gloves as long as they can on the way up to the summit and as temperatures drop and the chilling winds drive the temperatures much colder, they demand an extension gear item that will allow them the ability to still use their gloves for dextarity purposes while providing needed additional insulation and wind blocking protection. With that in mind, the first units that we made of this item are already climbing in the Himalaya's during the start of the 2009 climbing season. We built our units with 3 layers top & 3 on the bottom, as compared to most other glove over mitt shells that only provide one or two layers of material total. Other brands may provide additional wind blocking protection and water repellency with their shells, but they fail miserably in most other area's. Other brands or types of glove over mitt shells fail in several areas. First off if they come with a nylon outer shell material, you get "zero" in the way of any additional thermal insulating value and the nylon material may block out some of the wind, but it does little to stop the forces of convective heat loss. Second, other glove over mitt shells provide little in the way of additional insulating and moisture wicking materials and their breathability is generally restricted due to the nylon outer shell fabrics used, therefore the moisture stays trapped inside. Ever observe mountain climbing pictures where the glove over mitts are dangling down at the climbers knees, all the time OPEN at the hand opening area with all of the snow and moisture going directly inside of the units, well not a good system if you want them to be dry on the inside when you first start to use them? You'll notice from the pictures that we provide in the left hand column, that our Technical Advantage XWick Glove Over Mitt Shells will seal completely shut across the hand entry opening area when not in use with their built in hook & loop sealing system and when in use you can also press the seal shut on both sides of your forearm as well, besides pulling the wrist area shock cord and cord loc tight to keep the convective air flow out of the inner compartment. We also again provide a webbing strap buckle assembly that allows you the opportunity to clip these to your waist belt or backpack to keep the shells from dangling at the knees. We finish off the outer shell assembly with a nice length of highly visable reflective elastic, so at night other climbers or people can find you easier with a flash of the light. We built these units with serious mountain climbing expeditions in mind, however these will easily extend the warmth period for anyone else who doesn't already own a pair of our Technical Advantage Mitts, whereby the Glove Over Mitt Shells wouldn't be required. These would also be a great solution fix for mushers who like to keep their especially thick gloves on their hands as long as they can, or for those who want to extend the warmth period of the mitts that they already own, but unfortunately bought from somebody else and the warmth performance is very poor. The skies the limit in terms of activities that you could use these exceptional Glove Over Mitt Shell units. This base layer system also provides such a wonderful feel and fit when you have it on, that you probably will forget it's there because it's so comfortable. The main base layer material that we are using, the BLACK colored technical fabric, is a heavyweight rated synthetic polyester fabric that offers excellent outdoor warmth characterics along with supreme moisture wicking capabilities, therefore you "will" stay warm and dry out in the elements with just the main base layer fabric used in both the top's and bottom's. To bullet proof you to a greater extent from the cold and piercing winds of Winter, we have pattern cut (7)seven inserts that are sewn to the main base material during the assembly process, that have been uniquely developed and added to futher protect some sweet spots on your body. The technical insert material (black in color), is a 95% plus thermal windblocking, abrasion resistant, breathable and DWR water repellent treated material that provides additional warmth and wind protection in the areas that always can't seem to get enough. The "new" Technical Advantage Wind Therm Base Layer's are wonderful to wear outside in the punishing elements of Winter and we don't believe that you will find anything similar in design anywhere else on the Planet and if you did, they would not meet the total performance level that these have been designed to achieve. These are about the most simplistic design cut in terms of a sock design, but we did so in order to have a One Size fits most format, with adequate side to side stretch. We have been building and testing different layering designs for socks over the past few years and just haven't finalized a "total" sock that we are satisfied with. In the mean time the word has been getting out about our Thermal Moisture Wicking Liner Socks through some of our Gear Testers and our clan following has grown and we decided its time to just put them out on the website and make them available to everyone. The fabric we use actually has a higher thermal value then a quality heavyweight 300 weight fleece, despite only being about 20% as thick, but the other thing that it offers is superior excellence in terms of moisture wicking and transfer, which is an issue with pure fleece and other materials used for making socks. We suggest that these socks be used as liners to go under your regular heavy boot socks and be the layer that goes right against the skin of your feet. The benefit that it offers right against the skin, is its enhanced moisture wicking & transfer capability, which will help to keep your feet dryer. Dryer feet and toe's means warmer feet for a extended period of time. Sweaty feet and lack of physical activity, starts the cooling effect process inside of the boot, leading to those cold or frozen toes. Whether you buy a pair of these or not and you have terminal cold feet, you should at least be always dousing your toes with "foot powder" before you put your socks on, to help absorb your foot sweat. If you buy a pair or two of these socks, then you can decide how you want to wear them. Wear them as a liner sock, wear them as your main sock or wear them either way depending on the temperatures. If you wear them as a main sock in extreme severe cold, we would recommend the use of foot powder and make sure that you have a good Winter boot that has a great inside liner. These are not "miracle socks" that are going to solve all of your problems and issues with cold feet, rather they are a possible solution to extending the length of time that you can spend outside with comfortable feet, instead of enduring cold or frozen toes and feet as usual. Again, the design of the sock is simplistic, whats not is the technically advanced fabric that we use that packs a "thermal wicking punch"!

User's Tidbit: We have a good Technical Advantage Gear customer who is also a severe diabetic, who tells us that these are the only socks that we will wear on his feet, irregardless of what Season of the year it is. He tells us that they help to keep his feet warm and dry during the Cool & Cold weather months, while keeping them comfortable and dry during the Summer months. For him at least, they help in dealing with the excessive feet sweating that he has to deal with on a daily basis due to his diabetes. |

If you're looking for a lightweight cockpit cover for your kayak, in terms of flexibility, compactability and weight, then you're looking in the right place! Our Technical Advantage Kayak Cockpit Covers are made from heavy duty 1.9 oz coated Ripstop Nylon, so they are not only waterproof and UV resistant, but they are also tough enough to not tear. The material that we build our covers with make them lightweight and flexible, as compared to others on the market that are stiff, firm and bulky to pack when not in use. Our covers also will easily fit inside of our supplied 6" x 8" nylon travel bag and when packed are small enough to fit into the mesh pocket on your life jacket, or you could with a little effort stuff one into your back pant pocket. Our Kayak Covers are built using a mid-range 1/8" shock cording that is built in around the edge framework of the cover, which is strong enough to allow for a firm and tight seal around the cockpit drop edge, but also facilitates the use of a cordloc that provides for a secure locking seal on the shock cord. Other brands of covers use a larger diameter of shock cording and an approximate two inch long plastic slide tube, which doesn't allow for as tight a secure lock on the shock cord as our provided cord loc does. In our travels with our own recreational & sea kayaks during the Summer and Fall months, we notice that most other kayakers tend to leave their kayak cockpits open, instead of having them covered during travel on their vehicles. We believe that the cockpit openings should be covered to eliminate the additional air flow drag that occurs when you're humming down the highway, especially now with the higher gasoline prices that have been and will be around for the long term future. Some kayakers will never cover the opening of their kayaks, even in storage for keeping the mice, bugs and spider webs out of the cockpit area. Others own a cockpit cover and only use it when they have the kayak in the garage or shed and even others own a cover and would like to use it during travel, however it doesn't hold tight enough for it to not blow off. With the Technical Advantage Kayak Cockpit Covers, we sewn in loop side velcro type material in two different locations on each side, so that you can attach the included stretch cording safety strap in the closest location to the breakline of the cockpit top edge taper. With the supplied safety cord strap and the plastic hook that is located at the end of the shock cording that is built into the cover, which you should hook onto the stretch cording built into the top of your kayak after you have tightened the cover down and locked the cordloc, you're never going to lose the cover when driving down the road. We also sew on a couple of strips of highly reflective tape to the top of the cockpit cover, so you can pick you kayak out of the crowd in the dark when shining your flashlight around. Not necessarily a deal maker, rather just an added feature that we build in for the special price. To size up your Kayak Cockpit cover, just take a measuring tape and measure from the center of the back outside edge behind the seat forward to the front outside edge of the opening. This gives you the length. Then measure at the widest estimated "width" area of the cockpit opening, again measuring from the top outer edge on the left and right side and this measurement will give you the width. The Number 1 volume usage size Wrist Wrap for your Racing Sled Dogs or just for the family pet that may have a sore wrist area. The wraps are meant to be placed at the top of the dog ankle joint up towards the elbow area, with the textured rubber side going against the fur. These warps are meant to give the best support at 5mm's thick, while also keeping the applied to wrist area warm, so that it isn't as stiff and swollen making it easier for the dog to move. Our Wrist or Sweat wraps are "all" made from Grade #1 Neoprene, with one side having a raw textured finish that goes against the dogs wrist to keep the heat in and to offer the extra support that you demand for your animal from the proper 5mm (3/16") material thickness. The second or outer side of the wrap has a soft bonded nylon material finish that adheres to the 1 inch wide strip of heavy duty "hook" material that is sewn the length of the wrap onto the raw textured neoprene side edge, so that you will have a very secure lock when the wrap is used on your dog. Our 1 inch strip of "hook" material gives you greater surface area for greater bonding to the nylon side of the wrap, versus those manufacturers that only provide a 3/4" strip of the same material. We also sew our "hook" material strips with 69 lb bonded nylon tread, that insures that the strip will still be there long after the dog has tried to chew through the rest of the wrist wrap material. The 5mm thickness of our material also supplies the best level of support and rigidity for your dogs wrist area, but still allows for flexing and motion of the dogs wrist during movement. The premium Grade 1 neoprene that we use also provides for the best nylon material for adhering to the hook material strip, which is superior to those wraps that are made from Grade 2 neoprene. Our Prairie Snowstorm Dog Jackets were designed and built to meet the standards that we set forth with our Arctic Series Dog Jackets, in terms of toughness and durability, but we also built them lighter in weight and in thermal insulation value. We built these dog jackets with a 2 layer system of technical fabric materials, with the Outer Shell consisting of the forever tough and durable 1.9oz coated nylon ripstop fabric, which is combined with a second inner layer that is Thermal Windblocking, highly breathable and DWR water resistant. The combined package offers 100% thermal windblocking protection for your dog, while also keeping them warm and dry when out in the elements. These jackets offer a Thermal R-value of insulation of approximately R-1.40, which is still higher then the average 2 layer jacket being sold by others. Besides the tear resistant ripstop outer shell that most other manufacturers choose not to use because of the added cost, we also keep your dog warmer because ours also block out 100% of the wind.(please note that tear resistant "does not" mean that an extremely sharp object still won't cause a cut into the nylon ripstop material. It just means that the cut will not continue on into an endless tear across the jacket) Our jackets go on in a snap and there is no wrestling with your dog in trying to put their head and paws through the openings as some of the other jackets on the market do. We also use only heavy duty hook and loop(velcro) on all of the securing flap areas and at the same time ours provide 25% to 30% more securing surface area to make sure the jacket always stays on your dog. If that wasn't enough, we also built in front and side 3/4 webbing straps and buckles that can be connected so that the only way the jacket will leave your dogs back is if you take it off of them yourself! We also sew on right & left side reflective material strips and one on the top back side of the collar for night time visibility. Go Green and Go Green in more ways then one! As you can see from the pictures on the left, these dog bags are Green in color and built with a very durable textured outer cover layer, which is also DWR water rellent treated and thermally warm. But that's not the whole story, because you can't see what is inside of the bed bags? As we try to do the best for the environment, utilizing technical synthetic polyester fabric made from re-cycled plastics when we can get them, use compact florescent lights in the office and shop, we also try to keep as much of our technical fabric trimming from production out of the landfill. So far most of the fabric trimings have stayed out of the landfills, but we haven't been able to stay ahead of the build-up of trimming until now! Standard household dog beds, depending on the size, range in price from the twenty dollar range to over $100.00. A few are made here in the USA, however most bag tags we read show them made in China. Some are filled with foam rubber, some with scented wood chips, some with styrofoam pellets and others with cellulose fiber and probably still others that you don't want to see what's inside of them. Many but not all of them will have a outer cover that zips off so that you can wash the cover bag when it's dirty or smells, however once the clean cover is put back on the smell comes back right away because it is permanantly locked into the inner bedding fill material. Our mission at Technical Advantage Gear always ends up being doing things differently then the rest to make things better or to fill niche in the market place and these K9 Snow Patrol Thermal Vehicle Dog Bed Bags are no exception. As man's best friend, our dogs also enjoy seeing the countryside and most but not all of them enjoy their rides in our vehicles where ever we may be headed. Therefore, we have designed 3 Vehicle Dog Bed Bags that are made for use in your car, suv or pick-up truck. Of course you can take them in and use them in the house as well, but the dimensional cut of each bag is made for "on the road touring", so that you seats stay a little cleaner and your favorite friend gets to catch a snooze on a warm and comfortable bed bag. The other Green's that we mentioned earlier are the filling's for these bed bags, which come from 100% re-cycle technical fabric trimmings from our shop and most of those are technical synthetic polyester based fabric pieces that will provide true warmth and soft comfort for your dog. Within the filling mix, is also fabric trimmings from fabric that we use that is made from re-cycled plastics. By now we think you have the message on how Go Green and environmentally friendly these bed bags are so enough said! The Outer Cover Layer on these bed bags are again DWR water repellent for resisting moisture for an extended period of time, so the inside of the bags contents will stay dry. If the bed bag ever needs to be washed due to getting dirty or it starts to assume smells from your friendly pooch, just throw the whole thing into the washing machine at home or down at the local laundry mat. You can dry the wet bag in a clothes dryer, just make sure to not to use a softner dryer sheet as it will remove the DWR water repellent treatment on the outer shell layer. The bags are completely sealed and sewn shut, so when you ever wash/dry them, everything inside and out will smell fresh....hooray! Just shake them up and beat them around a little bit to loosen up the insides of the bag and then you're good to go. SMALL BED BAG: The Small Bed Bags are especially designed for use in the front seat of a vehicle as they fit nicely on the flat part of the passenger seat between the left and right angled slopes of most seats. User's Tidbit: Although we built these Vehicle Bed Bags for our 4 legged Doggie friends, customers are buying them for completely other reasons as well, primarily due to their sizing, comfort and because the whole bag can just be dropped into the washing machine, if and when they need to be cleaned and refreshed. Our customers are telling us in private that they make wonderful pillows "for them" to use while riding in the passenger seat on a long trip and others have bought them for use as a pillow of choice when they go camping on weekends.
