Prairie Snowstorm Mitts w/Handlebar Straps

SIZING FOR PRAIRE SNOWSTORM MITTS ONLY

To determine the correct mitt size, you will need to measure the length of your hand from the bottom "full crease" line at the base of your hand to the tip of your "middle" finger.  Next you need to measure the width of your hand at the points illustrated above.

Once you have your bare handed length & width dimensions of your hand, then go to the chart below which highlights the "MAXIMUM" hand dimension for each mitt size.  If you want to use the mitts in conjunction with a lightweight pair of gloves so that you hand is always protected from the cold when you need the dextarity of using your fingers outside of the mitt, then take the same measurement with your glove on and then determine your size.

Did You Know...

We like to use terminology throughout our website for explaining the forces of nature that impact why different parts of our bodies get cold and at the same time we also, generally explain what we have done to combat the described or termed force of nature.

But the real question here is whether you remember or understand what they they are and why it is important to know what they mean?  We continue to believe that informed shoppers make better choices, so listed below are a few terms & definitions for making you a wiser person:

Conduction or Conductive Heat Loss:

....is the transfer of heat from one object to another, when the two objects are touching or in contact with each other......Picture going outside in the Winter time and picking up a frozen steel pipe with your mitts on your hands, the warmer object your hands w/mitts (or heat) is gripping the colder object (the frozen steel pipe) which is inturn transferring the heat away from your hand & mitts.

Why is this important?  It's important because your hand dissipates twice as much heat and sweat moisture on the bottom side of the hand versus the top side of the hand.  Therefore, when you're wearing most other brands of Winter mittens that are built with the bottom side only 20% to 30 % as thick as the top side, the cold or frozen object in your grip is transferring or stealing away the critical heat from your hand(s).
